On March 23rd 2022, the webinar “POLITO Studio in Bogotá: Italian Design Day” took place, broadcast live from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá (Colombia). At the center of the event, the lectio magistralis by Professor Paolo Mellano ‘The culture of Italian Design in the experiences of research internationalization between Italy and Colombia’, and the round table dedicated to the presentation of the collaboration project between Italian and Colombian architects of POLITO Studio. Objective: to provide participants with an initial overview of the Colombian market and the opportunities for Italian architects.
The meeting, proposed on the international day dedicated to Italian design in the world, was an opportunity to present the open call reserved for members of the Association of Architects through which professionals will be selected to participate, in multidisciplinary teams with Polytechnic of Turin professors and researchers, in a two-year training course to guide them to the Latin American market, with particular reference to Colombia and Panama. The project program will be based on concrete project cases, such as architecture competitions and contests.
Through the open call, 12 professionals, either individually or in association, will be selected to take part in the two-year training and accompaniment course for the Latin American market. The call envisages that working groups – made up of professionals, researchers, and international partners – will participate in applied advanced training workshops, to acquire skills and networking, promote the skills of Italian professionals, and create new professional opportunities abroad.
