Polito Studio China builds on the many long-standing collaborations existing between Politecnico di Torino and Chinese partners, as well as the favorable conditions of architectural design practice in China, where joint professional-academic design teams are an integral part of the professional landscape.

In 2021, the first Polito Studio China project was launched. Twelve practitioners were selected to work in the Chinese market, together with the China Room research group at Politecnico di Torino. Different Chinese partners are involved for each project, allowing participants to test different mechanisms of practice as well as different institutional settings.
