As the new year begins, on February 2nd POLITO Studio kicks off: it’s the internationalization project born from the collaboration between the Association and the Polytechnic of Turin to offer professionals and researchers new opportunities across borders.
The occasion is the webinar Working with China. Opportunities and exchanges in architectural practice (4 CFP) designed for an overview of the Chinese market and opportunities for designers.
‘Where nothing is simple, but everything is possible’, China holds enormous potential for Italian architects, as well as many difficulties of access. To shed light on this, academics and professionals who are experts in Italy-China relations will take turns to outline possible strategies to make the most of the opportunities of this market. Scenarios and prospects for professional studios, the post-Covid Chinese economy, ways of setting up a professional development path – also from the cognitive empathy side – and case studies told by studios, designers, and researchers will be analyzed.
Lastly, the call reserved for members of the Association will be presented, through which professionals will be selected to participate, in multidisciplinary teams with Polytechnic University professors and researchers, in a two-year training and accompanying course for the Chinese market. The project program will be based on concrete project cases, such as architecture competitions and contests.
